CATHEDRAL NEWS The Knife Angel As the Knife Angel continues to be displayed in the garden at the Cathedral, we are reminded that knife crime, while decreasing nationally, is still a major social issue with horrific consequences for those impacted by it. In the last two weeks over 16,000 people have visited the Knife Angel with 5,000 of those signing our book pledging not to carry a knife. A Special Service for the Victims of Knife Crime The Knife Angel will remain on display until the end of the month, with a special service which will be held to provide a safe space where people can come together and remember those who lost their lives or have been impacted by knife crime. The service will be held on Saturday 21 September at 5pm. As soon as our busy little workers are in full flow, the Cathedral honey will be on sale in our shop. Francesca Massey – Director of Music We are delighted to announce that Francesca Massey has taken up her new role as Director of Music and Organist. Francesca, originally from Birmingham and educated at Cambridge, comes to us from Durham Cathedral where she was Sub-Organist. Read more… Looking for a new garden ornament?
