February News from the Church of England
Monday, 30 January 2017
Events at Burrswood
Burrswood have sent the following message:
"We have a number of very interesting spiritual events and training days at Burrswood Health and Wellbeing taking place over the coming weeks that we think will be of interest to you and your congregation.
Please see attached our literature on our Creation and Creativity retreats, our ‘Delving Deeper’ day event, where we explore Christian wisdom through art and music and our training event days in association with Acorn.
All events are open to individuals, churches, chaplaincies and community groups.
The Acorn training days in particular would be a really inspirational way of bringing Churches, chaplaincies or community workers together to learn more about the ministry of healing and wholeness and how to deliver it authentically in the community.
We would be really appreciative if you could circulate the attachments around any contacts you think would be interested in learning more or print them out an posting them on your Church notice board. If you would like any more information then please call Burrswood Health and Wellbeing on 01892 865988 or drop me an email.
Kind regards, Sophie

Alpha Course for Sixth Formers
Alpha Course for Sixth Formers
The Alpha course looks at the big
questions of life and covers the basics of the Christian faith through sharing
some food, watching a DVD and a short discussion. Look for “Bear Grylls,
my greatest adventure” on Youtube. With the backing of Sevenoaks Churches
Together and Sevenoaks Area Youth Trust, a course is being organised for all
16-19 year olds in Sevenoaks. The course reaches out to the curious, the
sceptical or the uncertain and aims to give young people a compass to navigate
the multiple choices they face at the beginning of their adult life.
Are you a sixth former or do
you know a 16-19 year old who might be interested?
For eight weeks, on Tuesdays,
starting Tuesday 17 January, 7.45-9 pm at the Youth Cafe at the Stag
(House in the Basement). Light food included. No charge.
Contact alpha7oaks6thform@gmail.com
to register or for further information.
REQUEST FOR HELP FROM CHURCHES!
Cook(s) also needed from eight churches to supply
light food/cakes for each of the evenings – ideally one church would each take
one evening to help with catering! Please let Nick Rowell know if you are able
to help with catering at one of the sessions email; armanda.nick2@gmail.com
